Naked Wedding Cakes

{Source}

Happy Birthday to... Me! Being both a birthday and wedding tradition, I feel it's only appropriate to share my new favorite nontraditional cake trend - naked cakes! Aside from adding the perfect homespun touch, this guilty plessure isn't so guilty after all because much of the calories are cut back by only frosting between the layers, love! But wait, it gets even better - naked cakes are extremely DIY friendly! So what do you think, are you a fan of naked cakes?!

Dried Flowers, A Go or No?

{Source}
Alright, question time! In your opinion, are dried flowers a go or no for weddings? This trend seems to be slowly making an appearance on the wedding radar and I admittedly am on the fence!

This nontraditional alternative does hold some pretty nice bonuses I must mention. Dried flowers are often cheaper than fresh, always a fan of a budget-savvy option! Re-usability, re-usability, re-usability! From wedding mementos around your home to other parties, the reuses are endless. And of course, the ease and control of DIYing yourself! One thing is for certain, these unique arrangements do a pretty spectacular job of capturing the vintage vibe!

"Love Birds" An Aviation Inspired Wedding

For any of you that follow my twitter page, you have recently read a few overly-sentimental tweets. I can't help it though! Why? Well today my amazing fiance moved to North Carolina to start the next chapter of his aviation career! Exciting right - I couldn't be more PROUD!  On the other hand however, I am desperately wishing I could join him on this new adventure. I will just have to keep reminding myself that October will be here before I know it and "happily ever after" can officially begin!

So to commemorate my pilots big day, I feel it is only fitting to feature an aviation inspired event. This wedding from Ashley Rose Photography is just the ticket!  From the classic WWII airplanes and memorabilia to decor, this wedding is jam-packed with awesome vintage detail! But what is most impressive about these nuptials? The gorgeous bride handmade everything from her dress to the paper goods... talk about impressive!
