Twist on Traditional: Headboard

Recently while at my favorite local antique shop I came across a gorgeous rod iron fence that I couldn't pass up! I also knew that I wouldn't be using this fence for it's traditional purpose but instead as a headboard!  I know it isn't really wedding related but I thought this shabby-chic twist on traditional was something any DIY bride might find interesting. I mean after all the wedding planning is done the next best thing to look forward to is decorating your new home together, right?!

Marilyn Monroe Engagement Inspiration

Can you guess the inspiration of this gorgeous engagement shoot?! Marilyn Monroe of course! The best thing about these photos by Sloan Photography is that Brent planned it without his fiance Jenica knowing! She was surprised with the shoot and fabulous swimsuit just two days after their engagement, what a lucky girl!

DIY Cake Stands

{Source}

{Source}

I am obsessed with cakes stands so there is no question that these gorgeous dessert displays will be apart of my decor on the big day!  Unfortunently cake stands can be expensive, so what to do? Thankfully this fabulous DIY will give you the best of both worlds, gorgeous cake stands while keeping cash in your wallet!

What you will need:

Plate
Base
Expoxy Glue
Heavy books

Start by finding a fabulous plate and base.  For the base I suggest a candlestick, sundae dish, small vase, tea cup, or a drinking glass. Next, apply the expoxy glue to the rim of choice base and position on the back of the plate. Finally, place books on top and leave to dry overnight.  By morning you will have a beautiful, budget-savvy cake stand!

California Bohemian Wedding Al Fresco

Today I seem to be very inspired by all things bohemian and after seeing this wedding inspiration by The White Flower Boutique and Flutter Glass Photography, you'll see why! Simply breathtaking.

The team shares, “This shoot grew from a love for all things bohemian mixed with a penchant for the gorgeous natural parks of California. We were inspired by the vibrant oranges of the state flower, the poppy, and the perfectly speckled feathers of the state bird, the quail. Fuse these all together and what do you get? Why California Bohemian, of course, and so our concept was born. We wanted to evoke the feeling of a roving gypsy caravan that stopped in the wilds of California and threw a gorgeous bohemian wedding al fresco. Think bright, wild blooms mixed with antique gold and feathers. Lots of feathers.”

Clearly a work of genius, am I right?!
