Like usual, I am always looking for unique wedding inspiration. So it will come as no surprise that the "traditional" card box is not going to make the cut for my big day! On a recent thrifting trip I came across an amazing antique mailbox that I plan on using in place of the card box.

Thrift Store Find

I am beyond giddy to share with you a thrift store find of mine today. A dozen glass milk jars for; drum roll please... six bucks! Yes that's right, $6.00! This is why I love all antique stores, flea markets, and thrift stores. With a little patience and imagination the finds are endless!

I plan to incorporate the set into my big day as bud vases!

Canister Centerpieces

 I have always been drawn to kitchen canisters. I just love the beautiful detail and uniformity of a set!  So I got top thinking; besides giving your kitchen counter some charm, kitchen canisters would also make PERFECT centerpieces for a shabby-chic wedding! The varying sizes makes for a fabulous visual display and the uniformity of each set helps give the arrangement a clean look.  With so many design, style, and color options finding the perfect sets to match your wedding theme is easy. 

Try using canisters as flower vases, "as is" for a unique visual display, as candle holders, or a table number display... the options are endless!

Mismatched Tableware

You could say 'mismatched' is the inspiration for my wedding. Everything from mismatched bridesmaid dresses, seating, and yes, even tableware!

Not only is this the swoon worthy inspiration for my own wedding, but also is a booming wedding trend for many vintage loving brides. This definitely has to do with how fun, easy, and wallet conscientious the look is. Rummage sales, antique stores, flea markets, and thrift stores offer endless options to help you create this look for CHEAP!

DIY Handkerchief Invitations

While antiquing I always seem to come across the most beautiful vintage handkerchiefs.  Being the shopaholic that I am, I always have a strong urge to purchase the lot but walk away telling myself; what in the world would you ever need 300 mismatched handkerchiefs for?! Well I just found my answer, DIY vintage handkerchief wedding invitations! Hello, amazing!

What you will need:

• Vintage Handkerchiefs
• They can be any color or pattern. Don't worry about using only blank center handkerchiefs.

• Lint Roller

• Iron on Transfers

• Iron

• Ironing Board 

• Scissors or Paper Cutter 

Step 1: Create an invitation template. There are many online sources that you can use, I recommend The Wedding Chicks.

Step 2 :  Print your template onto the iron on transfers. To do this, use the instructions that come with your transfers as a guide. Keep in mind that you may have to invert the image.

Tip: Take into account the size, pattern, and thickness of your handkerchiefs.  A certain iron on transfer may be best suited your handkerchiefs.

• Avery Brand For Dark Fabric 4x6 has a white background so it can be used on any pattern design and does not bleed. Also, there is no need to invert the template with this brand. 

 Step 3: Prepare your handkerchiefs by washing, ironing/steaming, and lint rolling each one. Next, using a  paper cutter or scissors, trim down your iron on transfers to desired size. 

Tip: If not lint rolled, lint will show up encased in the iron on transfers.

Step 4: Making sure to follow the instructions provided by your iron on transfers, iron transfers onto each handkerchief. 

Step 5: Let cool.

Viola, beautiful and unique wedding invitations that your guests are sure to love!

Potato Sack Decor

Over the Labor Day weekend I managed to squeeze in some quality "picking" time at my favorite flea market with my Mom, and like usual we did not leave empty handed! Flea Market Engagement Shoot

My heart just may have skipped a beat upon setting eyes on this brilliant engagement shoot, photographed by the talented Millie Holloman! The gorgeous couple used a flea market to set the stage for their vintage inspiration. From a "picker" like me, I cannot think of a better or more fitting backdrop for a junk-loving couple! OBSESSED!
