Instead of a crazy night full of pink veils and male genitalia props what do y'all think of this fun take on bachelorette parties from Utterly Engaged?! A 'no boys allowed' camping trip with a theme of 'Where The Wild Things Are' was the inspiration for this bride and her group of best gal pals! Quality girl time, gorgeous scenery, fabulous outfits, some amazing photo-opps, and of course some cold drinks...sounds like a perfect bachelorette party to me!
P.S. This shoot has so many great details perfect for styled engagement shoots as well!

Burlap and Bling
I swoon over the simplicity of a whitewashed color palette and burlap accents. Naturally this beautiful burlap and whitewashed scene of mismatched candlesticks, accents of baby's breath, and vintage mirrors was created by my beloved Nashville wedding venue Cedarwood! I just may have to design my reception decor based off of this shabby-chic inspiration! Love it!

Design Fit For Royality
Who isn't wishing they were a princess today?! I sure am! Since I don't see that happening anytime soon, I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through the beautiful Kate Middleton! What a lucky girl!
If your dying over Kate's wedding style like I am, here is the list of designers and design details that created her stunning look:
Dress: Designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
Kate reportedly chose this British brand for their craftsmanship, respect for tradition, and the technical construction of their clothing. She wished for her dress to combine tradition with modernity. The beautiful lace design was appliqued using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Individual flowers were hand-cut from the lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock.
Veil and Accessories: The veil was made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, which was embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework. Holding the veil in place was a Cartier 'halo' tiara lent to Kate by The Queen. Kate's earrings were by Robinson Pelham and the design inspiration came from the Middleton family's new coat of arms, which includes acorns and oak leaves.
Wedding Shoes: Kate's shoes were hand-made by the team at Alexander McQueen and are made of ivory and duchesse satin.
After the ceremony, Kate slipped into another stunning dress, also an Alexander McQueen creation.
I cannot wait to see what "copy-cat" designers come out with! I am looking forward to dress shopping that much more now!

Luminary DIY
Creating the right mood at a wedding is so very important! Nothing accomplishes this better than lighting right?! Well thankfully I have a wonderfully easy and cheap DIY to help accomplish this, hand made luminaries!
What you will need: Paper lunch bags, votive candles, and sand.
You can simply leave the bag as is or get creative with decorating. Try using a hole-punch, trimming the top of the bag to make a custom edge, or stamp the bags with your monogram. If you want to get really creative, pick up an Xact-o knife and some stencils. Just be sure to place cardboard in the bag before using the Xacto-knife to cut out the stencil design, as to avoid cutting through both sides of the bag.
After decorating, simply pour sand into the bottom of each bag to weigh down. This will help to keep the bags from blowing over and starting on fire, talk about a wedding downer! Next place your candles inside, and light!
I recommend using the luminaries to line the aisle or walkways, hanging from trees to create an inexpensive lantern, or as centerpieces.
Safety Tip: Try using LED tea lights to avoid any wedding worry!
Simple huh?! Talk about an easy DIY that is sure to bring ambiance to any wedding!
