Falling in love with a true southern boy means one thing, I have had my share of delicious southern sweet tea! The refrigerator always has to be freshly stocked with a big pitcher...no complaints here! So you can guess on the big day there will be plenty of southern sweet tea to go around! (In mason jars of course!)
(This recipe makes 10-12 servings)
Basics:
Coffee Maker
Gallon-sized Pitcher
Ingredients:
Water
1 family sized Lipton Tea bag
5-8 cups sugar
Mint leaves and/or lemon slices
Directions:
1) Fill the coffee maker's carafe full with fresh, cold water.
2) Pour the water into the coffee maker's reservoir and place the carafe on its base.
3) Place the tea bag into the coffee makers filter basket (Note: No filter necessary).
4) Turn coffee maker on.
5) While coffee maker is running, dump the cups of sugar into pitcher (The more added, the sweeter the tea will be).
6) Once coffee maker has finished, pour the hot tea into the pitcher.
7) Stir.
8) Place into refrigerator and let cool, 2 to 4 hours.
9) Garnish with mint leaves, lemon slices, and/or both.
9) Take a mason jar, add ice, fill with sweet tea. ENJOY!
(Hint: For a lighter sweet tea only use 1 tea bag and for a darker tea add extra tea bags.)
